Weiss Cannon Power Principle is designed to answer a common criticism of co-polyesters: that they sacrifice too much power for the benefits of control and durability. Power Principle uses a more elastic polyester compound and a construction tuned specifically for enhanced energy return at contact it deflects slightly more than typical stiff polys and springs back faster, delivering more natural depth to groundstrokes without requiring a dramatically harder swing.
This makes Power Principle a strong choice for players who want to transition to a polyester string for durability reasons but find standard co-polys too dead-feeling for their game. The control and spin potential of polyester are preserved, while the additional power compensation means the racquet still produces usable depth on a compact or conservative swing.
The 1.25mm gauge provides solid durability for regular club players and performs well across the tension range stringing at 52-58 lbs gives a good balance between control and the power the string is designed to deliver. Players with full, aggressive swings may find they prefer the string’s character at the lower end of the range where the trampoline effect is most pronounced.
An excellent option for intermediates stepping up from synthetic gut who don’t want to lose all the liveliness they’re used to. Sold as a single strung set.
