Tennis net centre bands are the anchor straps that run from the centre of the net down to a hook or peg in the court surface, holding the net at the regulation 0.914m centre height required for all ITF-compliant play. Without a properly secured centre band, the net sags at the middle producing an illegal playing surface and a visually poor court presentation.
