The Oliver Orca 5CL is the heavier, more powerful variant in Oliver’s Orca series sitting alongside the Supralight but targeting a different kind of advanced player. Where the Supralight is built for speed-seekers who want maximum swing velocity, the Orca 5CL is for players who want their racquet to do more of the physical work, generating mass-driven power from the frame’s increased weight.
At around 120g unstrung, the Orca 5CL provides genuine stability on contact with hard-hit balls, maintaining directional accuracy on attacking drives and cross-court shots even under pressure. The high-modulus graphite construction keeps the frame stiff and responsive energy is transferred cleanly and directly to the ball rather than being lost in frame flex.
The 5CL designation refers to the frame’s structural layup, which uses a five-layer carbon construction for optimised strength-to-weight ratio at this weight class. Advanced players will appreciate the solid, planted feel on impact it has the characteristic of a racquet that doesn’t give anything away, responding honestly to every swing.
Ideal for physical, powerful players who favour deep drives and attacking squash, advanced players who prefer a heavier feel for control, and competitive players who have trained with lighter racquets and want to build their game around mass. Recommended stringing tension: 25-30 lbs.
