Dunlop Pro Padel balls are built to the FIP (International Padel Federation) specification for padel – a standard that differs meaningfully from regular tennis balls. Padel is played on an enclosed court with glass walls, and the game’s dynamics require a ball that bounces less energetically than a standard tennis ball: too much bounce would make wall play uncontrollable and eliminate the strategic depth that defines the sport.
The FIP specification calls for a ball with slightly reduced internal pressure compared to a tennis ball – approximately 4.6-5.2 kg/cm². This reduced pressure produces the lower, more predictable bounce off both the court surface and the glass walls that padel’s tactical game requires. Using standard tennis balls as a substitute degrades the playing experience significantly, particularly in wall play where the wrong bounce makes the game unpredictable.
Dunlop’s construction quality ensures the Pro Padel maintains consistent pressure and bounce throughout its lifespan – the rubber compound is formulated for padel conditions, resisting the repeated glass wall impacts that tennis balls are never designed to endure. For clubs investing in padel courts, stocking the correct specification ball is as important as having the correct racquets and court surface.
Suitable for recreational through to competitive padel play. Sold as a can of 3 balls.
