Crossblox String Savers Black are the same friction-reducing string intersection inserts as the white version the only difference is the colourway, which provides a more discreet appearance in string beds with dark or black strings. Players who use black co-polyesters (Weiss Cannon Black5Edge, Luxilon Savage Black, Oliver SQ.X9) or dark-coloured strings will find the black savers far less visually prominent than white alternatives.
The function is identical: small plastic inserts placed at the contact points between mains and cross strings to reduce string-on-string friction, dramatically extending the string bed’s functional lifespan before breakage or significant tension loss. The most wear-intensive positions in the string bed the central main/cross intersections where ball contact is most frequent benefit most from saver placement.
For players invested in premium strings, the per-set cost saving from extended lifespan makes String Savers a financially sensible accessory. The installation process is straightforward with a toothpick or similar narrow tool to press each saver into position at the string intersection.
Available in black here; white version also stocked. The choice between colours is purely aesthetic performance is identical.
